ITINERARY: 2 WEEKS TOUR IN MOROCCO FROM CASABLANCA
Day 1: Casablanca Airport – Rabat
This two-week Moroccan adventure take place from Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport. We will start with a visit to the iconic Hassan II Mosque, an architectural marvel with ocean views. Afterward, we head to Rabat, Morocco’s capital, and discover cultural treasures such as Hassan tower and the Oudayas Kasbah. As the days end, we will drop you off at your accommodation in Rabat.
Day 2 : Rabat – Asilah – Tangier
Enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel/riad in Rabat before departing for Tangier, where the Mediterranean and Atlantic meet. Along the way, explore Asilah, a fortified coastal town that combines Andalusian charm with local vibrancy. Afterwards, we drive to Tangier, immerse yourself in Tangier’s multicultural heritage by visiting the picturesque Cape Spartal Beach and the fascinating Cave of Hercules. Next, check into your hotel/riad in Tangier and immerse yourself in the city’s charm.
Days 3: Tangier– Rif Mountains – Chefchaouen
After a delicious breakfast at your hotel/riad, travel on an enthralling journey to Chefchaouen, located in the Rif Mountains. The two-hour trip from Tangier reveals panoramic views of undulating hills and lovely towns.
When you get to Chefchaouen, check into your hotel/riad and begin your inquiry. The city is known for its blue-washed buildings, which create a lovely atmosphere. Wander through the Medina’s winding streets, investigate bustling souks, or chill at one of the quaint cafes or eateries serving delectable Moroccan cuisine.
Day 4: Explore The Blue City Of Chefchaouen
Today will be dedicated to admiring the blue city of Chefchaouen. The city with its blue-washed buildings and friendly locals, provides a relaxed atmosphere in its historic medina. Explore winding streets and narrow alleys along the northern hillside. Visit Plaza Outa el-Hammam, the main square, and enjoy local restaurants or cafés.
On the afternoon, trek up the hillside to the city walls, follow the path to Hotel Atlas, and access the rooftop for an expansive view. Don’t miss the eastward streets leading to a path up the hill (20 to 30 minutes) for the white Spanish Mosque, offering a great sunset spot behind the mountains.
DAY 5: CHECHAOUEN – VOLUBILIS – MEKNES – FES
After breakfast, we will head to Fes. On the way, we will stop at the UNESCO-protected Roman ruins of Volubilis. This huge structure, founded in the third century BCE and abandoned nearly a millennium later, was once a prosperous city in the remote areas of the Roman Empire.
Afterward, we continue to Meknes, a 17th-century city that was once Morocco’s capital. Wander through the charming walled old town, featuring the famous Bab el Mansour gate. Admire the gate’s intricate designs and carvings, and visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, a sacred site dedicated to the famous Sultan Moulay Ismail. After lunch, we’ll head to Fes, where a delightful night at a beautiful Riad awaits.
DAY 6: EXPLORE FES WITH A LOCAL GUIDE
After breakfast at your Riad, you meet our local guide and immerse yourself in the rich history and culture as you navigate the winding, narrow streets of Fes medinas. The explorative journey starts in Fes el Bali (789 ACE) at the well-known Bab Boujeloud gate and goes to Talâa Kebira’s major boulevard. Admire the Spanish and Tunisian-influenced architecture as you go past stores and souks (markets) looking for presents and souvenirs. Witness the traditional procedures in action at the 11th-century Chouara Tannery. Before proceeding to the “new city” of Fes el Jdid (13th century), see the elaborate zellij tile work of the 14th-century Al Attarine Madrasa.
Enjoy panoramic views of the city from the Mellah, the old Jewish area, and the cemetery. Explore Ville Nouvelle if time allows to see the tremendous shift in architecture.We will conclude the day by allowing you free time to explore Fes at your leisure before heading to your accommodation
DAY 7: FES – IFRANE – AZROU – MIDDLE ATLAS MOUNTAINS – SAHARA DESERT
Our tour begins with a visit to Ifrane, often referred to as Morocco’s Switzerland, where you can take magnificent images and observe the town’s splendor. Then we go to Azrou’s cedar grove, which is home to some playful monkeys.
After that, we had lunch in Midelt. We cross the TIZI N TALGHAMT pass in the afternoon, which provides amazing views of the Ziz gorges and the lovely Ziz Valley. Continuing our journey to Erg Chebbi Dunes by passing through Aoufous and Erfoud, which are known for their fossils and dates,. You will be able to tour a fossil craft studio and learn about this unique art form.
Finally, we arrive at Erg Chebbi’s Merzouga Dunes, where you’ll check into your hotel, where a magical dinner awaits, accompanied by traditional Berber music. The hotel provides a unique and comfortable accommodations, allowing you to fully embrace the serene beauty of the desert night.
DAY 8: AN EXPLORATIVE JOURNEY OF THE DESERT – VISIT NOMADS – CAMEL TREKKING – OVERNIGHT DESERT CAMP
Following a delicious breakfast, we drive to Khamlia village, where you will be treated to the enthralling rhythms of real Gnawa music. Then we’ll go off the usual route, exploring the dunes on an unpaved road and stopping for tea with nomads in traditional Berber tents. This immersive experience gives you a glimpse into a different way of life, and you’ll even get to eat Berber pizza for lunch.
In the late afternoon, after relaxing at the hotel, you’ll prepare for an incredible camel ride into the heart of the dunes to view the breathtaking sunset. When you arrive at the camp, you’ll be greeted with mint tea before settling into your comfy tents with ensuite bathrooms and showers as the Sahara presents its stunning evening hues. Dinner is ready, and as you eat, a musical performance by the group around the fire adds to the allure of the starry Sahara night.
DAY 9: MERZOUGA – RISSANI – ARFOUD – TODGHA GORGES – DADS VALLEY
Today, make sure to wake up early to witness the breathtaking sunrise, as the dunes come alive with a mesmerizing display of colors and shadows, so you will not miss an awe-inspiring spectacle. After breakfast, you will ride your camel back to the Merzouga, meet your driver and head to Dades Gorges.
Along the way, we will stop at Rissani’s bustling traditional market. If you visit on a market day—Sundays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays—you’ll be greeted by a vibrant display of colors, fragrances, and sounds as you stroll through its bustling streets. Afterward, we drive to Arfoud, where you’ll have the opportunity to visit a workshop showcasing fossilized marble. The journey continues through the picturesque palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad, where we will stop for lunch.
Next, we will drive to the Todgha Gorges. A River includes stunning, high, red cliff-sided canyons that make perfect rock climbing terrain. Explore the gorges at your leisure, wander around the stunning environment, and wonder at the natural beauty that surrounds you.
We continue the trip to the Dades Valley, passing via Boumalne Dades. Make stops along the way to see the famous “monkey fingers” rock formations and a charming site atop a mountain with stunning views of the Dades Valley. Finally, finish the day with dinner and a stay at a hotel.
DAY 10: DADES GORGE – OUARZAZATE – AIT BEN HADDOU – HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS – MARRAKECH
After breakfast, our tour will continue to Kalaa Magouna to explore the rose valley. If you visit in May, you can also attend the annual Rose Festival, where locals display rose products such as perfume, rose water, oil and decorations. You will pass through the palm trees of Skoura to reach Ouarzazate. In Ouarzazate, visit the studios where many famous films were shot.We begin our day by going to the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a fortified town recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This notable Kasbah has been filmed in various movies and TV series, such as Combatant, Alexander, The Mummy, and Diversion of Positions of Authority.
After investigating this famous kasbah, we continue to Marrakech, passing through the Tizi-N-Tichka pass and the High Atlas Mountains. We’ll make stops for lunch and photo opportunities at beautiful spots along the way. The day concludes with an overnight in Riad, Marrakech.
DAY 11: GUIDED TOUR IN MARRAKECH WITH LOCAL GUIDE:
After breakfast, explore Marrakech, the “Red City of Morocco,” with a local guide. Your guide will lead you to various sites of historical and cultural significance, such as the renowned Jemaa El Fna square, the Koutoubia Mosque, and the Saadian tombs. In the afternoon, visit the Majorelle Gardens and take a brief tour of the new city of Marrakech, including the Koutoubia tower. Finally, take you to your accommodation. You will be free to wander Jemaa El-Fna on your own.
DAY 12: MARRAKECH – ESSAOUIRA
Our journey takes us from Marrakech to the enchanting coastal city of Essaouira. we’ll make stops to observe the famous Argan tree goats and enjoy panoramic views of the surroundings. Essaouira is surrounded by 15th century Portuguese forts. This lively fishing town offers a mix of colour, surf and historical charm. Whether you want to bask on sunny beaches or wander the UNESCO World Heritage-listed medina with its lively markets and artisan workshops, Essaouira guarantees a delightful experience.
The medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its blue doors and window frames, is a treasure to navigate through any of the city gates, ensuring you don’t get lost. A medina surrounds the fascinating beach, offering the ideal setting for both relaxation and cultural exploration. There are several cafes in the vicinity with attractive terraces that are perfect places to spend your leisure time.
Delve into the artistic atmosphere as you explore the Medina and the woodcarving workshops and artists. Essaouira is a rich tapestry of history, creativity and beach bliss that invites you to enjoy every moment. Overnight in Essaouira.
DAY 13: ESSAOUIRA – MARRAKECH
Today, after breakfast, we drive back to Marrakech. This ride is not just a transfer, but a visual journey through the country and various landscapes. In Marrakech, you will be free to explore the city on your own.
DAY 14: MARRAKECH – TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT:
On the last day of your 14-day Morocco tour from Casablanca, we will pick you up and transfer you to the airport, concluding your memorable journey. Safe travels!
